EB-5 Investment: More Q&A

america in the heart

The EB-5 investment program continues to be an exciting opportunity for investors. As the program continues, many investors have questions, and our entire team of experts is always ready to answer them. We’ve included a few more commonly asked questions below in our Part 3 of our Q&A discussion about EB-5 investment.

Do I need to send funds before I’m approved for my visa? Yes, at American Life, Incorporated, we don’t use an escrow account. Although this is allowed under the program, having completed an investment can be a positive in the visa approval process. In addition, our real estate development projects are time-sensitive, requiring timely investment to avoid delays.

What happens to my investment funds if I am not approved for a visa? Your investment funds will be returned to you if you are not approved for the visa, after you have tried all available legal remedies. You’ll find information about this process in your investment contract with us.

What is an accredited investor? An accredited investor has a net worth of at least $1 million US (excluding your primary residence) or has made at least $200,000 US each year, for the last two years and expects to make the same this year. The dollar amount increases to $300,000 for married couples. Investors must be accredited to invest in the opportunities at American Life, Incorporated. The investment amount can count toward the net worth requirements.

Have people been approved for the EB-5 visa who have been rejected when applying for other visas? In some cases, yes. Be sure to disclose everything to the US as well as your immigration attorney so we can help with the process.
